Date: 1852.The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations, the first world's fair, was held in London in 1851 in a temporary building constructed especially for the event. Named the Crystal Palace, the structure so amazed and impressed the public that after the exposition ended, the building was dismantled and moved to a permanent site at Sydenham. The major commission of Delamotte's career was the photographic documentation of the reconstruction of the Crystal Palace -- one of the earliest uses of photography for reportage. The Century of Progress Exposition, organized to celebrate the centennial of the city is served starting at Italio Balbo to organize in turn, on the tenth anniversary of the Royal Air Force, Air Cruise of the tenth, second and last transatlantic cruise air mass which took Part 25 SIAI-Marchetti seaplanes on route S.55X Orbetello-Chicago-New York-Rome. The large wing of S.55 is reproduced with the fasces on the facade of the pavilion, rationalist architecture designed by Adalberto Libera (1903-1963) and Mario de Renzi (1897-1967).
